Ashley and Ben wanted an understated, rustic wedding and that’s exactly what they got with the help of Janice at Rebecca Chan Weddings & Events. They found the perfect venue in Airship 37 which has the perfect blend of minimalist, rustic, industrial and chic.
From the Bride: We never envisioned ourselves having a big wedding, but being from two different countries and having spent years traveling together we realized it was our chance to try and bring all of our favourite people together under one roof. We had guests from every chapter of our lives there that day, and with our focus on coordinating flights and arrivals, we entrusted our vendors to bring the details to life – and they delivered. It was pure magic. Every detail, from the florals (my one request was “green”) to the feature drinks (we had both Caesars and bloody Mary’s to represent Canada and the US) to the seamless transitions (organizing a wedding party of 16 is akin to herding cats) was absolutely perfect.

The venue transformed from ceremony to reception seamlessly. The wedding’s colour scheme was a classic with white, grey, and a sprinkling of silver and black. The bride’s lace gown and the muted shades of the bridesmaids’ gowns were complemented by the lush greenery bouquets and crowns from Michelle Marie Kelly. The signs were minimalist and elegant: the seating chart was white with geometric accents and the calligraphy table numbers were dark with floral motifs. The table settings were simple with white tablecloths, gray napkins, silver cutlery and orchids as centerpieces. Using the cascading greenery as a focal point, the newlyweds sat in front of the backdrop during the reception. The head table was lined with greenery, tea light candles and the ladies’ bouquets. The couple had their first dance as husband and wife and enjoyed the rest of the night celebrating with their closest friends and family.
From the Planner: We tried to organize a room reveal once the space had been transformed, and it ended up being the perfect time to capture some photos of just the two of them.
