The food at Earl's was great as usual and quick to come, same with the drinks. The service was AMAZING! I want to highlight Alex Harper specifically. I don't think he was even a waiter but he tended to us throughout the evening. I work at a restaurant and always appreciate when customers leave positive reviews for my staff so I thought I'd do the same.Good job, Alex!
my husband and i decided to dine in for dinner. We had a reservation but still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Upon being seated it took over 15 minutes for a server to come over. When he finally did he was extremely unprofessional, scattered and rude. We placed our orders, did not receive our drinks until another 10-15 minutes later. I asked for a straw, and was not given one. I had to get up myself and go get one from the bar. A different gentleman brought out our food, asked us if we wanted refills and brought us napkins. Our original server did not once come to check on us, or ask how we were doing. Yet he kept walking by our table multiple times. When I asked for the bill I had to ask multiple times before he brought it out, along with the machine to pay. The same gentleman that brought out our food took our plates. At that time I tipped him, because my husband, and I felt he was so kind and genuine, and actually took care of us. We were not impressed at all with our original servers service, it seemed like he didn't even care and that we were non existent. When he finally brought out our bill I pulled out my card to pay my husband was already standing up beside me so we could leave once we paid. Based on not being treated very well I did not give him a tip. We tipped the other gentleman that had actually assisted us. I handed him back the machine he ripped off the first receipt, my husband and I began to walk away. He VERY rudely came infront of me and asked if anything was wrong with the service tonight. I told him we didn't think he provided any service to us, he ignored us, and didn't bother to check in. The server brushed my shoulder as he began to walk away very rudely told me and my husband that the next time we dine in at Earls King Street we should tip or get lost. I was absolutely appalled with the behavior. We left the restaurant as we felt that what had happened was extremely inappropriate. When you dine out you are looking forward to the experience. This by far was the absolute WORST experience of my life. I would never recommend this restaurant, or location to anybody. How could a server tell a customer that next time they should tip or get lost. Unprofessional is an understatement to what had happened. Employees like that should not work for the restaurant industry if all they are after are their tips. Unacceptable behavior.
Please change Bigger better burger to regular size not tasting good boring burgerThanks!
On Thursday September 3rd, my daughters 21st birthday, we had reservations for dinner for 10 people.I have never been so disappointed in all my restaurant experiences. Our server was inexperienced and unprofessional, we were not greeted in a timely manner, as a matter of fact, the steps of service were nowhere to be found except to inform us that we would be charged 18% on the bill automatically but not be provided with any form of customer service deserving of this %. Our drink order was finally taken after sitting for 20 minutes, bear in mind we had a 2 hour time limit on the table regardless that we were sat 10 minutes after our reservation time. Drinks came sporadically and incorrectly and took as long to be corrected. Long story short we were also told upon making the reservation 2 weeks prior that Happy Hour was at 9:00 when in fact it was at 11:00 and our reservation was at 8:30.We asked for our bills and we left, after travelling specifically for this reservation from Durham Region. The worst part of the entire experience was the way we were treated when we wanted to speak to someone about the issues we faced. There may have only be 10 of us in our reservation but when each of us tells at least one person about the horrible time we had and they tell one person...you know where this is going. Not only did you ruin our dinner and the taste in our mouth for any future visits, you ruined a special occasion. I waited almost 24 hours to write this review so that I could get my emotions in check. What are you going to do about this Aimee Rivers???????????
I highly recommend coming on a Tuesday for the half priced wine. The steak and sushi combination was very delicious and satisfying. I love my beef done rare and Earls had no trouble accommodating my fairly unusual request. The rolls were very delicious and the meat was tender and flavorful. I would definitely go again to enrich my tastebuds. The patio is also very nice and spacious, my server was extremely nice and friendly. Had a very great experience.
