This is a warning to brides about our experience post COVID. We had issues with the hall with the uncertainties of our event with COVID. Once Toronto entered Phase 3 we were offered an option for a micro wedding which we were pleased about. They charged us A LOT extra in the room rental fee based on our previous contract (which they obviously with regulations could not accommodate 180 guests). Never the less we sucked up the cost as we did not want to post pone our day or walk away form the large deposit the venue had from us. Everything was going smooth until the week before the wedding, mind you it was all done via email (as phone calls would not be answered by the hall). After we paid our final bill they tried to say we would have to have our ceremony inside and reception outside in the Gazebo. Completely backwards then planned and still pay the same prices in rental for both. They told us 5 days before the wedding they did not have a choice. Finally we called and lost it and they changed it around to accommodate as basically they over booked with a second wedding and could not have both weddings eating indoors, and they didn’t want to have extra staff to allow both brides to get married in the Gazebo. Foru Our day of coordinator was far from what we expect. I don't even know her name because I don't think she even told me it, however I was bombarded by her the entire day. She had zero clue of our plans that day. They had set up EVERYTHING inside when it was suppose to be outside as our guests were only allowed inside for the washrooms . Our memorial table, our guest book, our card box and our favours. I have guests mailing me their card now because they could not find the box. Over half way through cocktail hour when this was brought to my attention, my cousins had to go move it all outside. Which she got mad about then said because of COVID guests cannot pick up a favour. Well they were actually supposed to be out on the cocktail hour tables, all of this was stated in our day of package notes. The lady we dealt with for all our planning and at the tasting was different then our day of coordinator. Also we had guests who were unable to sign our guest book since it was missing the majority of the cocktail hour, and none of those guests got to see our memorial table which was extremely important to me as it had my Dad who just recently passed away. The whole night she was pushy and getting mad things were behind, interrupting our pictures as she wanted us to stop so she could serve salad. I also was informed by guests the end to cocktail hour was very rude and abrupt, and they were very forcing pushing those into the reception and not allowing for goodbyes to occur uninterrupted. Also at our tasting we clarified (based on past reviews) that there would more than enough servers and bartenders. There were not. People were struggling the whole cocktail hour to get food and drinks. My husband and I were never offered either. His parents were at a table for over 20 minutes before they flagged down someone (after multiple attempts). Tom the bartender inside was fantastic however he never stopped working being the only bartender and I know guests were frustrated. My husband and I once seated at the reception were not approached by a waitress, and after waiting I got up to just walk up to the bar to get my own drink when finally a waitress took our drink order. Most the night I just walked up to the bar, because if Tom didn't fill our glass up it wasn't noticed by staff. Tom was absolutely amazing and everyone loved him - and sadly he is the only person's name of the night I knew. Dinner was not near as good as our tasting which was also sad as we only had 50 plates and the only wedding that day so I did not expect food to be dinner then our tasting. Also our cocktail hour food choices were a bit different then what we picked our parents informed up. Again I was never offered food at my own cocktail hour so I didn't even get to try anything. I know a lot of bad comments were removed and this was our honest experience. We were disappointed in our experience with the Guild. Our day was still special as we were surrounded by our closest family and friends.
We just had our wedding at The Guild Inn and everything was amazing! From our very first visit up until the wedding day the staff was super attentive, informative and quick to respond, especially our coordinator Francesca. The venue itself is beautiful with high windows, and string lights on the patio..not to mention the gorgeous grounds for photos. The food is also delicious and the recommended officiant and DJ were excellent as well! Highly recommend this venue (especially if you take advantage of their off-season savings), they made the whole process so stress free!
After looking through an endless amount of venues, we found the Guild Inn and fell in love. The floor to ceiling windows are like nowhere else and they make the room feel elegant and spacious. Our point of contact was Francesca who was professional, timely, and responsive. We had a delightful food experience with The Host and would highly recommend them. The Guild is upfront with their pricing and really makes sure your event goes well the day of. Thank you Guild!
The Guild Inn has become an extremely popular wedding venue in the past 1-2 years and there is a reason for that. It didn't take us long to decide to have our wedding here and we know that we made the right decision! First of all, it is an amazing location right by the Bluffs. The Guildwood Park is also undeniably one of the most gorgeous places for wedding photos in the GTA. We also loved the fact that we could do everything at just one location - wedding photos, ceremony and reception. They even included an officiant and musician in their ceremony package, which was brilliant! Both my husband and I come from Chinese families, so our parents demanded a Chinese banquet and the Guild Inn partners with the best Chinese caterer in the GTA. Francesca was our main point of contact and had been wonderful to work with. We booked the Guild Inn over a year before our wedding date and every time we reached out to her by email, she had been very prompt and helpful with her responses. When we finally met her in person, she was just as great and professional. We really appreciated the accommodation for some of our guests' special meal requests. Priyanka was our banquet manager for the reception. Although we did not have much time to interact with her, we thank her and the team for doing an overall fantastic job. The only thing that could have improved was the cocktail hour. Due to the rain, we had to relocate from the outdoor terrace to the indoor lobby area. Since this was an unexpected change, our guests had to wait outside the reception entrance for a short period without food. When the hors d'oeuvres were served though, they were really delicious! We also had a signature cocktail made by the bartender and our guests loved it! We also want to commend the team for their excellent coordination with our other vendors. Overall, we are very satisfied with having our wedding here. We actually would love to come back perhaps for a friend's wedding so that we could relive the great memories we've made at the Guild Inn. When my (now) wife and I were browsing for venues, every single venue we had visited prior to The Guild Inn seemed bland, outplayed, nothing-special. I came across the venue through Google and made an appointment to visit. My fiance at the time felt butterflies in her stomach and had tears in her eyes when we finished the tour. Last September, we had both our wedding ceremony and reception at The Guild Inn. Our wedding guests were so impressed with both the grounds, the staff and their meals. Thank you to every one at the Guild Inn on making our special day one we will never forget. All the best!
